The Icom VE-PG4 is a world class, highly advanced, Radio Over IP (ROIP) gateway that revolutionises your radio systems interconnection capabilities.
Made in Japan, the VE-PG4 seamlessly connects UHF / VHF, analogue & digital (IDAS / NXDN & DMR) radio systems to LTE radio systems, IP telephone systems, WiFi radio systems, repeaters & trunking networks, telephone interconnect systems, public address (PA) & alarm systems and more. The radio bridging and interconnection options are virtually limitless.
By installing Icom's 4G LTE Connect sim card (powered by Telstra) or connecting the ROIP device to your enterprise IP network (LAN/WAN), the versatility of the VE-PG4 network connection possibilities becomes endless. Connect multiple VE-PG4 devices together, a join radio networks together regardless of geographical terrain, radio brand or radio communication protocol (UHF / VHF / IDAS / NXDN / DMR / WavePTX).
Icom VE-PG4 Features:
-
RoIP Technology: Extends the communication range over IP networks.
-
LTE Module: Supports nationwide coverage via 4G/3G networks using a custom SIM card.

Radio Warehouse can remotely manage your radio system, for a small monthly fee, if you do not have the internal IT resources to do so.
- Firmware Updates: Simplifies system maintenance with online updates.
The Icom VE-PG4 creates connectivity and interoperability, irrespective of brand or radio technology (Analog / IDAS / NXDN / DMR / WavePTX), and it can achieve it for a very inexpensive cost amount compared with ROIP technology offered by other manufacturers, or the complications associated with building and maintaining a repeater system.
Icom VE-PG4 Case Study:
A mining company came to Radio Warehouse, wanting to connect their two mining sites, using Motorola radios, located 40 kilometres away from each other.
Before the availability of ROIP devices, like the Icom VE-PG4, mining companies and other organisations trying to connect locations over large distances, would historically need to build complicated, dedicated repeater sites, costing more than a million dollars. The land would need to be purchased if not already owned, the repeater antenna tower would need to be built, a diesel generator or other power supply would need connected, never mind the expensive installation and ongoing maintenance; the list goes on and on.
Radio Warehouse was instead able to offer two VE-PG4 ROIP devices connected to their existing onsite Motorola radios, which connected over Telstra 4G LTE. This allowed both mining sites Motorola radio systems, be connected to each other in real-time, ensuring their operations and safety ran smoothly.
By having a VE-PG4 ROIP device connected into a UHF radio system, this opened the possibility of a regional manager, being able to use an Icom IP503H LTE handheld device whilst travelling on the road.
The 4G LTE interconnectivity (powered by Telstra) allowed the remote manager to listen, and communicate to staff located at the the two mining sites using Motorola radios, no matter where the manager was geographically located. So long as the manager had 4G LTE coverage, the manager can communicate to the multiple radio sites, using Motorola DMR radio systems.
