How does a repeater work?
A repeater allows all your radios to communicate with each other, who are all within range of the repeater.
Example 1: Imagine you can get radio coverage from the ground floor, up to the 20th floor. Likewise, on the 40th floor, you can get radio coverage down to the 20th floor. Install a repeater at the 20th floor and you can now enjoy radio coverage from the ground floor, up to the 40th floor.
Example 2: Imagine you have two radio users, each standing on a different side of a mountain. To be able to talk to each other, install the repeater on top of the mountain that both radio users can 'see'. The two radio users, on each side of the mountain, can now talk to each other.
