Kenwood and Radio Warehouse are proud to collaborate on the release of Kenwood's latest PKT model: the Kenwood PKT-300.
We anticipate full technical specifications & pricing information to be available at the end of 2024, which we will release on this page. However, until then, this is what we know:
The Kenwood PKT300 will be continue to be a small, lightweight, easy to wear radio that is ideal for retail, hospitality, and customer facing teams.
The PKT-300 will come with an LCD screen, allowing the user to easily see what radio channel they are on. The PKT-300 (American version) is advertised at 2 watts of broadcasting power.
We suspect that the Australian release of the PKT300 will be brought down to 1.5 watts, so that businesses can apply for the "ultra-low power" ACMA private licences, which are relatively inexpensive. These are private channels for users who only intend on using these PKT300 radios in their retail store or restaurants. The radios operating at this broadcasting power, should last 18 hours between battery recharges from flat to full.
We can advise that the Kenwood PKT-300 will be fully compatible with the current model, the PKT-23X, which operates between 450 and 480 MHz. This allows clients to continue using their licenced/private channel or alternatively continue using Radio Warehouse's Onsite 8™ Team channels, which attract no ongoing licence fees.
Kenwood's PKT series radio (PKT-23X) has been hugely successful in retail and hospitality environments. The PKT has proven itself to be incredibly reliable, easy to use, comfortable to wear, and built to a much higher quality than competitor alternatives.
As Australia's largest supplier of the Kenwood PKT series radio, we anticipate having large amounts of stock of the PKT-300 in 2025.
As further technical details become available, we will be releasing the information here. Stay tuned.
