As ANZAC Day in 2025 approaches, at Radio Warehouse, we are preparing to pause, reflect, and recognise the sacrifices our veterans have made in defending our country, which we all call home.
No matter whether you agree or disagree with the decisions made by the government of the day, our veterans have followed their duties to defend their teammates and the interests of our nation, no matter the individual cost. For these reasons, we believe, a veteran should be supported after their selfless service contribution they have given to us all.
For veterans who have seen the battles of war, first hand, the battle is often brought back home, manifested as PTSD, otherwise known as Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.
For anyone who has suffered from, or knows someone with PTSD, you understand the magnitude of personal consequences of having this survivable, but painful, psychological infliction.
We believe our veterans, who may have PTSD, should be supported post-military service, which is why, in the spirit of this ANZAC day, we are proud to support Guitars 4 Veterans (G4V) Australia.
G4V is an ACNC not-for-profit organisation, who uses the power of music to help veterans who may suffer from PTSD, connect with themselves and fellow veterans, after service, by telling their stories and their truths, through the healing power of music. G4V’s motto is appropriate: “Where words fail, music speaks.”
A small donation to G4V gives a veteran a free guitar and 10 free guitar lessons. I believe this is a worthy cause.
Music has an amazing ability to heal psychological wounds. This is why music is, in my opinion, the international language of emotion. Music speaks to us all. Music can help others connect with themselves, and each other, in deep and meaningful ways.
For those dealing with PTSD, feeling connected and feeling “heard” is an important part of the ongoing healing process.
It was an easy decision to support Guitars for Veterans Australia this ANZAC Day. They do amazing work, and we are proud to make a small donation and use our platform to raise awareness of their important mission.
As a matter of full transparency, Dave Cox, the founder of G4V Australia, was also a previous member of our leadership team. He has since retired to establish G4V Australia. Dave also happens to have served in uniform himself, passing on his radio communications expertise gained in the Australian Defence Force for the direct benefit of our staff training and our customers.
At Radio Warehouse, we support many not-for-profit organisations, wherever we can, whose mission aligns with our corporate social responsibility statement.
We absolutely believe in helping those find their voice, to be heard, supporting those with PTSD and those who have served in uniform.
